A new political force is emerging this afternoon, combining the anti-discrimination student movement that led the July uprising and the National Citizens' Committee.
The name of this new political party of the youth has been decided as 'National Citizen Party'. Students and the public are gathering in groups in a procession on Manik Mia Avenue in front of the National Parliament Building to mark the debut of the new party.
Students and the public began arriving from various parts of the country on Friday morning for the debut ceremony of this new party. Leaders of various political parties have also been invited.
Members of the law enforcement agencies are responsible for overall security during the event. Arrangements have been made for the event, including a medical team, temporary washrooms, police booths, booths for women, VIP booths, and water.
It is reported that family members of martyrs and injured fighters of the July Uprising will participate in the party's debut ceremony, along with leaders and activists.
Various political parties including BNP, CPB, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamic Movement, JSD, Nagorik Oikya, Gana Odhikar Parishad and AB Party have been invited to the event.
The youth who came to participate in the launch ceremony of the new political party said that a new sunrise will dawn in Bangladesh today. The youth will take oath today by forming a new political party to reflect the aspirations of the people of the country.
Manzil Hasan Murad, a student from Joypurhat district of North Bengal, said, "We came here from Joypurhat this morning. We are about 200 people from different institutions who have come here."
Besides, our senior brothers have also come. We want today, through this event, to see the debut of a party that will work for the people of Bangladesh and improve Bangladesh.
On the other hand, a person named Sifat Islam from Barisal said, "We have seen a lot of fighting and conflicts in the name of politics in the country. No one is actually working for the country."
So today a new political party of the young generation is going to emerge. We have come to witness that history. We believe that this party will always work for the people of the country and the country.
