He said, "Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was present at the book fair unveiling ceremony at Suhrawardy Udyan last week. He felt sick because there was a lot of dust there. Later, on the advice of a doctor, he was admitted to the hospital yesterday."
Shairul Kabir Khan added, "Mirza Fakhrul Islam's family has sought prayers from the countrymen for his speedy recovery. In addition, a request has been made to avoid unnecessary crowds at the hospital."
The BNP Secretary General is currently under medical observation and is receiving necessary treatment to recover.
