My pride, my hope, oh my dear Bengali language. In your arms, in your words, how much peace and love!
The All Broadcasters Community (ABC), an organization of news presenters, talk show hosts, radio jockeys and program presenters of government and private satellite television and radio stations, has commemorated those who were martyred for the alphabet bought with blood on International Mother Language Day with respect and floral greetings.
The organization, led by President Chowdhury Daulat Mohammad Jafri, paid tribute by laying flowers at the Shaheed Minar on Friday (February 21) morning. Organizing Secretary Ashfaqur Rahman Adnan, Treasurer Rajesh Ranjan Sarkar, Publicity and Publication Secretary Mamunur Rashid Raj and Women's Welfare Secretary Sabrina Chowdhury were present at the time.
President Chowdhury Daulat Mohammad Jafri said, "The sacrifices of those who were martyred in the language movement in 1952 have gifted us a new language. Each of our alphabets was bought in exchange for blood. Therefore, everyone should strive harder to maintain the quality of the Bengali language. As an organization of presenters, we are working to motivate everyone to pronounce the Bengali alphabet correctly and use standard Bengali from our sense of responsibility."
