Joint Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Dhaka Metropolitan North President Principal Hafez Maulana Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud said, "We must be inspired by the spirit of Ekushey and build a new Bangladesh after the July 24 uprising. The nation that fought for the language is immersed in Hindu and Western subculture. On this day of Ekushey February, instead of laying flowers at the Shaheed Minar, we must take an oath to protect the full respect of our mother tongue. All the young and old must unite and prevent the distortion of the mother tongue. The mother tongue must be kept safe from all foreign and foreign influences."
He made the above remarks in his speech as the president at a short discussion meeting in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the Bengali language organized by the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Dhaka Metropolitan North at the Falgun Mahfil Maidan in the historic Charmonai on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10 am.
The discussion meeting, moderated by City North Secretary Maulana Muhammad Ariful Islam, was attended by City Vice President Alhaj Anwar Hossain, Joint Secretary Engineer Muhammad Murad Hossain, Mufti Machudur Rahman, Mufti Nizamuddin, Doctor Mujibur Rahman, Master Warrant Officer Ob. Alhaj Aminul Haque Talukder, Engineer Muhammad Gias Uddin Parash, Mufti Arman Hossain, Muhammad Nazmul Hasan, among others.
He also said that anyone who tries to obstruct the reforms in building a new Bangladesh after the July 24 uprising will be hated by the nation.
