Members of the Student Movement Against Discrimination held a torchlight procession and road blockade program in Bauphal, Patuakhali. The Bauphal Municipality held the program on Sunday night to protest the attack on students in Gazipur and demand a ban on the Awami League.
Around 8 pm, a torchlight procession took out from the Upazila Parishad premises and circled the main road of the city before ending in front of the Bauphal Press Club. After that, anti-discrimination students blocked the road for an hour and held a protest rally there.
The brief rally was addressed by student leaders of Baufal Upazila Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Muntasir Tasrip, Ruhul Amin, Md. Rahat and Farhan Rupai, among others.
The speakers said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been deposed by the Awami League government, must be brought back from abroad and given exemplary punishment. Like the terrorist organization Chhatra League, the Awami League must also be banned, otherwise a movement will be formed."
