This information was given in a notification issued by the Marketing and Sales Directorate of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Thursday (February 13). It said that Biman Bangladesh Airlines is providing special discount on fares for respected expatriate workers going to Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. This facility called Worker Fair or Shramik Fara has been launched from February 10 and will be applicable till June 30. This fare will be applicable only for new worker visas and single journey tickets.
It also said that the current basic fare (excluding taxes) on various routes from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia is 360 US dollars, which was previously 480 on the Dhaka-Jeddah route, 400 on the Dhaka-Riyadh route, 430 on the Dhaka-Madinah route and 400 on the Dhaka-Dammam route. In addition, the current fare on the Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur route is 150 US dollars, which was previously 175 US dollars.
The notification said that to avail this facility called worker fare, the esteemed passengers must have a BMET clearance card or a BMET attested visa. It is noteworthy that Umrah, family visit or residence visa holders will not get this special discount.
Finally, it is said that this fare will be applicable to ticket purchases from any Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales center or any travel agency designated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
