Portuguese expatriates observed the holy Shab-e-Barat with due religious fervor in Portugal. After Maghrib prayers on Thursday (February 13), local time, respected imams at the Martim Moniz Baitul Mukarram Jame Mosque discussed the special importance and significance of the holy Shab-e-Barat.
After Maghrib, the program began with the recitation of the Quran, Hamd and Naat. The opening remarks were presented by the mosque's Imam and Khatib Maulana Qays Ahmed Abdullah, Imam and Khatib Maulana Helal Uddin, and the final remarks and special prayers for the world were led by the mosque's Chief Imam and Khatib Professor Mufti Maulana Abu Saeed.
Like every year, this year too, the mosque will arrange for iftar for about 500 people every day during the holy Ramadan, said the president of the mosque and senior community leader Rana Taslim Uddin. The committee called on all the people of the community to cooperate in the iftar according to their ability. Finally, the head imam and khatib of the mosque, Professor Mufti Maulana Abu Saeed, offered a special prayer for the Muslim Ummah.
