Poet, sociologist and roots seeker Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Tamiji has demanded the publication of a gazette for language soldiers and the naming of the road from the emergency department gate of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to the Central Shaheed Minar as 'Bhasha Shaheed Sarak'. He made this demand as the chief guest at the Children's and Teenagers' Drawing Competition and Prize Distribution Ceremony organized on the occasion of the Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day 2025 at the Central Kachikancha Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday, February 21, 2025.
He also said, "The importance of the language movement in the history of the liberation struggle of the Bangladeshi nation is immense. Its main spirit was to establish independence. It was a movement for the political, economic and cultural liberation of Bengal. Such an incident of giving life for the mother tongue is unprecedented in the history of the world."
Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Tamiji said, "Our inevitable identity is that we are Bangladeshis." The event, chaired by Iftekhar Momin Mithu, Secretary General of the Creative Artists' Group, was also addressed by Advocate Ibrahim Khalil Majumder, cultural personality Shafiqul Islam Babul, and others.
