Sadrul Ain:
Former State Minister for Home Affairs Sohel Taj wants to share his experiences, observations, and suggestions from that time with the commission on the BDR killings to establish justice and truth.
Sohel Taj said on his verified Facebook that he will voluntarily go to the commission on Tuesday (March 4) for this reason.
Recently, expatriate journalist Elias Hossain commented that the then State Minister for Home Affairs Sohel Taj may have been involved in the 2009 Peelkhana massacre.
In a post from his verified Facebook account, Ilyas Hossain also challenged Sohel Taj to show him his arrival visa from that time. He also shared a list of influential people with the post.
Protesting his comments, Sohel Taj challenged him to produce proper evidence. In response to the allegations, Sohel Taj wrote in a post on February 27, 'Prove it - if you can't, you'll have to cut your nose'.
There, the three also wrote, 'A so-called "investigative journalist" stationed abroad, who is a self-confessed opponent of the independence/liberation war, is repeatedly spreading false, fabricated and fabricated stories in various ways without any evidence to link me to the BDR killings - I strongly condemn and protest against this.'
He mentioned 3 special notes in the same post. The first was, 'I would request Brigadier General Hassan Nasser to release the information and evidence and inform the commission. I am ready to tell the newly formed investigation commission about my observations and experiences and cooperate in all respects.'
In the second note, he wrote, "I have explained where I was, why and what my role was - many times - watch my interviews. I can't repeat myself like a broken record."
In his final remarks, he said, "Many people ask why I am so agitated. My question to you is, 'If you were innocent and were falsely accused of involvement in such a serious and heinous incident, what would you have done?'"
