The 7th National Voters' Day was celebrated in Sarishabari, Jamalpur, with the theme "We will vote together in your and my Bangladesh." A special rally and discussion meeting were organized to mark the day.
The discussion meeting was held on Sunday (March 2) at the Upazila Parishad conference room under the initiative of Sarishabari Upazila Administration and Upazila Election Office.
The meeting was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Arun Krishna Pal, and was addressed by Upazila Election Officer Sakhawat Hossain, Livestock Officer Habibur Rahman, Secondary Education Officer Mozammel Haque, Youth Development Officer Anisuzzaman, Academic Supervisor ATM Ruhul Amin Beg, General Secretary of Sarishabari Press Club, poet Zakaria Jahangir, freedom fighter Abdul Aziz, journalists Shafiqul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, among others.
The speakers at the discussion stressed the importance of increasing voter awareness, ensuring fair elections, and strengthening democracy. They called on all new and existing voters to fulfill their national responsibilities.
Earlier, a colorful rally was held on the occasion of National Voters' Day, which circled the upazila premises and ended at the conference room.
