A symbolic march was held at 3 pm on Tuesday, Falgun 7, 1430 B.E. (February 20, 2024 AD) from the historic Amtala premises (gate of the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital), which commemorates the violation of Section 144 of the National Language Movement, as has been the case every year for two decades, demanding the implementation of the organization's 11-point proposal, including the introduction of the Bangla language, Bangla calendar, and Bangla calendar at all levels for official work of the United Nations.
On behalf of the Language Movement Memorial Council, the Bangla language, Bangla year-dates, and the official work of the United Nations, including the introduction of Bangla year-dates at all levels, were used, and the appropriate authorities were urged to implement the organization's 11-point proposal. The march was chaired by Dr. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed. At the end of the walk, everyone was invited to write a Prabhatpheri and perform it on the 8th Falgun, the 21st February, the Language Martyr's Day. Prabhatpheri is part of our history, tradition and culture.
The Language Movement Memorial Council has organized a morning procession in front of the Azimpur graveyard on February 21st, 8th Falgun. Everyone present is requested to participate in this morning procession.
