A meeting on Beat Policing was held at the initiative of Jhenaigati Police Station. The meeting was held on Saturday (February 17) afternoon in Dhanhati of the upazila.
Sherpur Police Superintendent Md. Aminul Islam was present as the chief guest at the exchange of views. Additional Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan and Shah Shibli Sadiq spoke as special guests at the meeting, which was chaired by Jhenaigati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Al Amin.
The meeting was also addressed by Upazila BNP Acting Convener Alhaj Shahjahan Akand, Joint Conveners Md. Abdul Mannan and Md. Lutfar Rahman, Hefazat-e-Islam President Mufti Khalisur Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islam Upazila Amir Md. Nurul Islam, Senior Journalist S. K. Sattar, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Leader Lutfar Rahman Laju, Kangsha UP Chairman Ataur Rahman, Traders Association Representative Journalist Zahidul Haque Monir and Sherpur District Co-Editor of Peshajibi Odhikar Parishad Golam Noor.
The speakers at the meeting discussed the improvement of law and order situation, suppression of social crimes and maintaining good relations between the police and the public. In addition, cooperation of all classes of people was sought to ensure peace and security in the area.
During the exchange of views, the people present raised various problems and the police assured them of resolving them.
