Amidst great enthusiasm, the country-wide regional football tournament organized by the social development organization Buro Bangladesh has begun in Savar. The first round of matches was held yesterday, Saturday.
Teams from Savar, Dhaka North, Gazipur, Manikganj and Gazi North regions participated in the competition organized at the local Alhaj Zafar Bepari High School grounds.
The event was attended by the chief guest Mustafizur Rahman Rahat, Divisional Manager of the Dhaka North Division of the organization. Among the many present were Savar Regional Director Mizanur Rahman, Dhaka Regional Manager Rafiqul Islam, Gazipur Regional Manager Ziaul Siddiqui, Gazipur North Regional Manager Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, and Manikganj Regional Manager Abdul Majid Mia.
In the opening match, Savar region defeated Manikganj region 2-0 to win. Shamsul Islam served as the referee in the match.–
