The annual sports competition and prize distribution of Birishiri Union High School in Birishiri Union of Durgapur Upazila of Netrokona was held.
Durgapur Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Bazlur Rahman Ansari was the chief guest at the day-long program organized on Wednesday (February 19). Addressing the students present, he said that by respecting parents and teachers, one can develop oneself as a good and developed person.
He also advised people to give up drugs, mobile phones and various social media and focus on sports in addition to studying. The program was presided over by the school's headmaster Md. Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan and special guests were Upazila Academy Supervisor Muhammad Nasir Uddin and Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Assistant Public Prosecutor Md. Sohel Khan.
In addition, invited guests were Majit Member, Educationist Md. Kazim Uddin, Al Amin, Hamid Ullah Bhuiyan and others.
Earlier, the program began auspiciously with recitation from the Holy Quran and reading of the Gita. Later, the national flag and sports flag were hoisted by the guests with the national anthem. Later, the competition of various events began one by one.
Assistant Headmaster Azizur Rahman moderated the welcome speech and education enthusiast SM Rafiqul Islam Rafiq delivered the welcome speech. Asaduzzaman was in full support of the event. In addition, assistant teachers SM Humayun Kabir, Rubina Khatun, Md. Russell Mia, Sharif Mirza and Ripon Chandra and many others were in charge of the game.
