The Deputy Commissioner's Cup T20 cricket tournament was inaugurated in Satkhira with a colorful ceremony. Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed inaugurated the tournament.
The journey of the first-ever Deputy Commissioner's Cup T20 cricket began at 10 am on Thursday (February 20) at the Satkhira District Stadium with the official inauguration of balloons, festoons and peace doves. Satkhira's traditional Ariyans Club, consisting of local and star players, and Yunus Ali Smriti Sangsad competed fiercely in the inaugural game.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bishnu Padpal as the chief guest, and Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed inaugurated the Deputy Commissioner Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
Present at the event were Mahbubur Rahman, member secretary of the Satkhira District Sports Association Ad Hoc Committee and District Sports Officer, Tayyab Hasan Shamsuzzaman Babu, former FIFA referee and member of the Ad Hoc Committee, Dr. Abul Kalam Babla, journalist Zillur Rahman, former joint secretary of SAJECRIS Mir Tajul Islam Ripon, and member AM Aktaruzzaman Mukul.
Also present were club officials, players, sports enthusiasts and spectators participating in the District Commissioner's Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
A total of 8 renowned clubs of the district are participating in the Deputy Commissioner's Cup T20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Satkhira District Administration and District Sports Association in 2 groups. Group A includes Ganamukhi Sangha, Dakshin Parulia Sporting Club, Goffar Smriti Sangsad, Young Balaka Krira Chakra. Group B includes Ariyans Club, P,K Union Club, Yunus Ali Smriti Sangsad, Tufan Sporting Club.
