Mostafizur Rahman: The final match of the Late Touhiduzzaman Swapan Chairman Memorial Cricket Tournament was held in Saghata, Gaibandha. The final match was held in a grand manner at the Nayabandar High School ground on Friday (February 28).
The match, which started at 4 pm, became a special attraction for local sports enthusiasts. The tournament was inaugurated by Gaibandha District BNP Vice President Alhaj Nahiduzzaman (Nishad), while Saghata Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Mohammad Ali was present as the chief guest.
Apart from this, Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Moin Pradhan Labu, Padumshahar Union BNP President Shahinur Islam, General Secretary Rakibuddaula, Farhad Mondal and many others were present as special guests.
Organized by the Club Hajbarl Committee, the tournament created a festive atmosphere among local sports enthusiasts. The final match was supervised by Md. Tanzil Jisad, the only son of the late Touhiduzzaman Swapan Chairman.
The organizers said that this tournament has been organized in memory of the late Touhiduzzaman Swapan Chairman with the aim of preserving sports and cultural heritage and encouraging youth to play sports.
In the match, Bragg Eleven Danopara Sporting Club defeated Sakal Sandhya Sporting Club by 7 wickets.
