Liverpool took the lead in the 34th minute of the match at Anfield through a goal by Dutch star footballer Cody Gakpo. In the 51st minute, Mohamed Salah, who was in peak form, increased the gap from a spot kick. Dominik Szoboszla made the scoreline 3-0 in the 75th minute. Virgil van Dijk hammered the final nail into Tottenham's net 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
Earlier, Newcastle became the first team to reach the League Cup final. Liverpool will face Newcastle in the title fight on March 16 at Wembley Stadium in London. The Merseyside club is the champion of the competition for a record 10 times. Liverpool also tasted victory in the last season. They are close to winning the title once again.
