Pavipravi Representative:
Students of the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) are facing various complications in getting their stipend money. Due to delay in submitting the required documents at the main campus, the students have not yet received their stipend money.
Students have many desires centered around the stipend money. There are many financially disadvantaged students who bear academic expenses with this stipend money. Due to the negligence of the administration, mixed anger has arisen in the minds of students.
When asked about this, Shahadat Hossain, a 12th batch student of Animal Husbandry at Birsreshtha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir Hall, said, "Many of us are sons and daughters of middle-class families. We spend about 5,000 taka every month. In this case, the stipend received from the university helps us a lot. Although the stipend money was supposed to be paid in January, it is not being paid on time. It would have been very beneficial for us if the money had been paid on time."
Mumtahena Jenin, a 22nd batch student of DVM at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, said, "Although scholarships are supposed to be given every semester, it has been a year since the stipend was given. Although the amount of the stipend is small, many financially challenged people rely on this money to make many plans. We want the administration to resolve this complication as soon as possible."
Professor Mosammat Kulsum Begum, Provost of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, said, "As there are problems with some accounts of students, we are working to correct those accounts. Therefore, the necessary documents have not been submitted from the hall office to the main campus yet. It is not possible to say for sure when it will be submitted. However, it will be submitted very soon. Hopefully, the students will get their stipend money very soon."
On the other hand, Professor Saidur Rahman, Provost of Bir Shrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir Hall, said, "Our file has been sent to the main campus and work is ongoing. It is estimated that the file may get approval within a week. Since it is now on the main campus, nothing specific can be said. I have already sent my staff to inquire and will inquire again next Sunday. I will try to pay the stipend money to the students as soon as possible."
The students are hopeful that the relevant administration will complete the process quickly and provide the students with the stipend money very soon.
