For the first time, the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Bachelor (Honours) 1st year admission test for the academic year 2024-25 has been held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BEROBI).
A total of 87,471 candidates participated in the exam, which was held simultaneously at five centers across the country on Friday (February 28) and two centers in the Rangpur region - Begum Rokeya University and Rangpur Police Lines School and College.
The 'B' unit exam was held from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, where 2,925 candidates participated at the Berobi center and 1,635 at the Rangpur Police Lines School and College center. The 'A' unit exam, held from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, saw 2,756 candidates at the Berobi center and 2,343 candidates at the Rangpur Police Lines School and College center.
After visiting the examination center, Berobi Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali expressed his satisfaction and said, "For the first time, the admission test of Shabiprabir was held in Berobi in an orderly and festive atmosphere. Students from the northern region got the opportunity to save time and money by taking the exam in their own area." He also said that arrangements were made to sit near the main gate for the guardians accompanying the examinees.
During the visit, the Chief Coordinator of the 2024-25 Rangpur Region of Shabi University Admission Test and Professor of the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, Registrar Dr. Md. Harun-or Rashid, Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Department Professor Dr. Md. Ilias Pramanik, Librarian of the Central Library Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman, Professor of the Department of Physics, Shabi University Dr. Md. Shah Alam and other concerned officials were present.
There was relief among students and parents as the exams were conducted in a disciplined and safe environment. Those concerned expressed hope that such initiatives will be beneficial for students in the future as well.
