A science fair was organized on the college grounds today, Wednesday, February 19th at 10 am.
Keeping in view the amazing potential of science and technology, a science fair was held for the first time on the premises of Kabi Nazrul Government College in Old Dhaka, the capital. The fair turned into a vibrant learning environment with various project research and creative exhibitions by students.
This time, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Tejgaon College and Khilgaon Government College participated in the science fair. And a total of six departments and 20 stalls including Chemistry Department, Botany Department, Zoology Department, Mathematics Department, Geography and Environment Department participated. The fair featured techniques for producing bioplastics, the use of acid rain, mathematical formulas, electricity made from garbage, modern mixed farming methods and safe water, safe life.
Professor Dr. AKM Akhter Hossain was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the science fair. He said, "Many of our students were killed in July and August. Seeing the enthusiasm of today's students, I am reminded of my own educational life. I have always considered science to be an exploration of the unknown, built on curiosity and study." He said that I started my educational life in the Dhaka University Super Conformity stream. He further said that the purpose of doing super conformity research was to know whether you can fully utilize your energy or not. He encouraged the students to be enthusiastic and research-oriented. Professor Muhammad Haider Miah was the special guest.
The convener was Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Alam and the president was Professor Mohammad Habibur Rahman.
The departmental heads were also present at the event. They encouraged the students' research and creativity and said that it is possible to meet future challenges through the groundbreaking application of science and technology.
Students who came to see the fair said, "We are very happy that this is our first science fair. Due to the organization of the science fair, we have learned about various topics such as acid rain, bioplastics, safe water, safe life, electricity generation from discarded items, etc. In this regard, if we research on these topics, our country will go far ahead. We want such science fairs to be organized every year."
The participating students said, "This science fair has increased our creativity and enthusiasm. This fair has helped us learn about how the problems facing Bangladesh can be solved through science and how science can be the answer."
Science Fair is not just a place for display, it is a huge learning area for students. It is the key to their future development by opening up new ideas and ideas. It is believed that through this event, the practice of science and technology in Bangladesh will move forward further.
