A seminar on 'API Dependency-Opportunity in Bangladesh' was held at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUBST) with students of the Department of Chemistry.
The Chemistry Society organized this seminar on Saturday (February 24) at 2 pm in room 401 of the university's video conference room.
The seminar, chaired by the Chairman of the Department of Chemistry, Md. Faruk Ahmed, was attended by experts from the Department of Chemistry, Rajshahi University, Dr. Md. Kudrat-e-Jahan, Plant Director of World API Industry Limited, Md. Zakir Hossain, BCSIR Senior Scientific Officer, Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir. Teachers of the Department of Chemistry were also present as guests in the seminar.
At the beginning, the students of the department welcomed the guests with flowers. The experts, led by the teacher of the department, Md. Mahabur Rahman, delivered speeches.
At the beginning of the seminar, Professor Dr. Md. Qudrat-e-Jahan spoke. He said, first you have to create a destination. Always remember that the road to reach the destination is not easy. You will have to face many obstacles. Ignoring these obstacles, you must move forward. He expressed his determination to work jointly with the Department of Chemistry of Rajshahi University and the Department of Chemistry of Pabna University of Science and Technology.
Later, Md. Zakir Hossain presented information about his work area, work goals and various topics through slide share. He highlighted the position of API in Bangladesh and other countries of the world. He gave guidance on the joint work of industry and universities and career of students. He made a speech on how to take this sector forward by comparing the API industry in Bangladesh and different countries.
At the end, Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir said, Chemistry has more opportunities in research, Chemistry students get more opportunities in higher education. Our BCSIR has the opportunity to work with any student. Then, he presented information about his work area, work goals and various topics through slide sharing. When asked about the organization and theme of the seminar, Departmental Chairman Md. Faruk Ahmed said that seminars are organized on different topics to provide knowledge to my students. This seminar is organized so that they can inform and understand any problems or questions regarding their higher education and how to prepare themselves for research and development in addition to jobs in the chemical industry.
When asked about the seminar, Shahadat Hossain, a student of the 2018-2019 session of the department, said, "Many new things can be learned in the seminar. I hope the well-thought-out guidance of the experts will be very helpful in our future careers."
All the teachers, students, officers and employees of the department, along with the vice-president of the association, Isharat Hossain, and all the members of the association were present in this seminar organized by the Chemistry Association.
