Ripon Marma Rangamati
A farmers' rally of the Nationalist Farmers' Party was held at Chandraghona Union in Kaptai, Rangamati. The farmers' rally was held on Sunday (February 9) afternoon at the Chandraghona KPM Fakiraghona premises of the upazila under the initiative of the Union Farmers' Party.
Md. Ibrahim Habib Milu moderated the rally, chaired by Md. Shafiullah, and was attended by the chief guest, Rangamati District BNP Vice President Md. Rahmat Ullah, Rangamati District BNP Joint Secretary Md. Dildar Hossain, Kaptai Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Yasin, Nurul Haque, Md. Zakir Hossain, Ekramul Haque, Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, Matin, Shahid, Md. Selim, Md. Ismail Hossain, Md. Mizan, and leaders and activists of BNP organs and associate organizations from various unions were also present.
The speakers said that in Bangladesh, 60-70 percent of the people are still involved in agriculture. The fate of farmers has not changed yet. Many governments have come and gone, but the fate of farmers has not changed. Farmers are getting poorer and poorer. And looters are smuggling money abroad. They also said that Tarique Rahman has announced that if we come to power, we will build agricultural purchasing centers in every union for farmers, if we come to power, we will arrange granaries. If we come to power, we will arrange agricultural loans on easy terms and in some places without interest. So that farmers can grow more crops, we will arrange agricultural associations in villages.
