Ripon Marma Rangamati
The farmers' rally was organized by the Chitmarom Union Krishak Dal of Rangamati Kaptai Upazila as part of a 3-month-long union-level farmers' rally across the country with the aim of organizing the majority farming community of Bangladesh.
The farmers' rally was held on Tuesday (February 11) afternoon at the field adjacent to the Buddhist Vihar Rest House in Chitmarom Union of the upazila. Md. Abu Alam, president of the Chitmarom Union Krishak Dal, presided over the welcome speech, while Akhtar Uddin Munna and Mobarak Hossain Mamun were present as the chief guests, and Uthoyamong Marma, organizing secretary of the upazila BNP, were present.
Md. Masud was present as the main speaker, Kaptai Upazila Krishak Dal President Narul Haque Basa, Chitmarom Union BNP Joint General Secretary Md. Yusuf, Chitmarom Union BNP Co-Organizing Secretary Md. Joynal, Khaimongwu Marma, Kaptai Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Convener Sumon Marma, Upazila Krishak Dal Vice-President Md. Sohel, Uhlachingmarma, Md. Ismail Hossain, Mangchou Marma along with local level Upazila BNP, Krishak Dal, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders were present as special guests.
The speakers at the rally said that the hands of the Krishak Dal must be strengthened for the overall development of the country and the farmers. Martyred President Ziaur Rahman gave top priority to improving the agricultural sector and the fortunes of the farmers in this country. The leaders and workers of the nationalist Krishak Dal, inspired by the ideals of the farmer-friendly Shaheed Zia, will continue to work alongside the farmers and the common people.
