A total of 10,400 taka fines were collected in 08 cases under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 and the Essential Commodities Control Act 1956 during a market monitoring mobile court operation on the occasion of Ramadan in Kalia Bazar, Daulatpur Upazila, Manikganj.
On Sunday (March 3), Upazila Executive Officer Nahiya Nuren and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ahsanul Alam operated a mobile court as part of regular market monitoring on the occasion of the month of Ramadan at Kalia Bazar in Daulatpur Upazila.
In addition, hotel and restaurant owners who have hung awnings on the sidewalk in front of their shops to sell iftar items have been ordered to remove them immediately.
During the market monitoring, Upazila Executive Officer Nahian Nuren said that this campaign will continue throughout the entire month of Ramadan. Strict action will be taken against those who do not charge extra prices to earn extra profit and sell food adulterated products. This is the first time that a warning has been issued.
