In a joint operation with the army in the municipal town of Ranishankail upazila of Thakurgaon, the traffic police have fined the owners of motorcycles with various defects a total of one lakh twenty-six thousand taka in 35 cases after verifying the validity documents of 121 motorcycles.
On Sunday, February 23, at noon, the police and army set up checkpoints against illegal motorcycle traffic at several places in the city, including Abad Takia Madrasa intersection, Palash intersection, Shibdighi Jatrichauni intersection, Shantipur intersection, and in front of the Girls' High School at the entrance of the city. The joint force checked the registration, driving license, helmet, and Trex token of each motorcycle and fined them.

At this time, two police sergeants, an ATSI, a constable, and two units from the army and police station from the district traffic headquarters conducted the operation.
Police Sergeant Mostafizur on duty said, "We are conducting this campaign regularly under the Road Transport Act 2018. We are conducting this campaign in all the upazilas of Thakurgaon district. People are also being specially warned against riding motorcycles. And we are releasing those whose car papers are correct and who are riding motorcycles according to the correct rules after verifying all their papers. However, those who have previously faced minor cases are facing double fines."
