Two people were arrested with six rounds of ammunition, a magazine, and a 9mm foreign-made pistol in a raid by the Lohagara police in Narail.
Ujjwal Roy, District Representative from Narail, said that on Monday (February 24), SI (Retd) Suman Hawlader of Lohagara Police Station, along with SI (Retd) Masudur Rahman and ASI (Retd) Ilias Bepari, while conducting a Devil Hunt, Warrant Tamil, and Drug Recovery Operation, they secretly learned that some people were staying in the Mahogany Garden on the west side of the house of one Md. Khalilur Rahman of Kundasi village, ward no. 5 under the municipality of Lohagara Police Station, for the purpose of buying and selling drugs.
Based on the information, Lohagara Police Station quickly reached the spot and when the accused tried to run away from the spot, Lohagara Police Station arrested the accused Babul Sheikh Dhala Babul (42) and Bipul Sheikh (35), both fathers - Delwar Sheikh, Sang- Mangalhata, Thana- Lohagara, District- Narail. Babul Sheikh's body was searched in the presence of witnesses at the spot and 6 rounds of bullets, a magazine and a 9MM foreign pistol were seized.
It is worth noting that a review of the police station records shows that there are a total of 17 cases against Babul Sheikh, including 14 drug cases, and one case against his brother Bipul Sheikh. The accused are known as identified terrorists, drug dealers and extortionists in the area. Legal action is under process in this regard. The operation to recover more illegal weapons is continuing under the overall direction of Narail District Superintendent of Police Kazi Ehsanul Kabir.
