Four Awami League activists and a fugitive accused in a human trafficking case have been arrested in Operation Devil Hunt in Sharsha, Jessore.
They were arrested from their respective homes early Wednesday night, said Sharsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) K. M. Rabiul Islam.
The arrested are Awami League activist Khorshed Alam (52), son of the late Punjab Ali Biswas of Matipukur village in the upazila, Rezaul Islam (51), son of Abdul Alim of the same village, Wasim (42), son of the late A.H. Rahim of Kashiadanga village in the upazila, Moshiar Rahman (48), son of the late Khalilur Rahman of the same village, and Hekmat Ali (45), son of Rahmatullah Rahmat of Panburi village, an accused in a human trafficking case, who is on a warrant.
OC K. M. Rabiul Islam said that they were arrested by conducting Operation Devil Hunt. Among them, 4 Awami League workers and one person is an accused in a human trafficking case with an arrest warrant. He said that the arrested people were handed over to the Jessore Magistrate's Court on Wednesday afternoon. #
