Pirgachha (Rangpur) Representative –
Pirgachha Police have arrested Zahidul Islam Zahid (Member), President of Upazila Swechchhasebak League, in Pirgachha, Rangpur, as part of the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt campaign across the country.
He was arrested from the Pankar Matha area of Sadar Union of the upazila on Sunday (February 23) afternoon. He is a member of Ward No. 8 of Pirgachha Sadar Union and the president of the Upazila Members Association.
Confirming the arrest, Pirgachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nur Alam Siddiqui said, "He had been in hiding since the fall of the Awami League government. He was arrested from the Pankar Matha area of the upazila at noon based on secret information. He will be sent to court after interrogation."
