Today, Thursday, February 13, at 7 pm, the Double Mooring Police Station of Chittagong city recovered a locally made LG weapon during a raid in the Chaumuhani area of Double Mooring Police Station of Chittagong city. Police say that a young man was arrested as part of Operation 'Devil Hunt'. According to information received from him, the weapon was recovered from a shed in a tin shed building in the Sariapara Ice Factory area adjacent to Karnaphuli Market in Chaumuhani.
The arrested youth is named Yusuf Shanto (24). He is a resident of the tin shed house. The officer-in-charge (OC) of Doublemooring Police Station, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, confirmed the operation to the media. He said, "We are currently at the scene. After arresting a youth named Shanto, we came here and recovered a locally made LG weapon based on the information he gave during interrogation."
Chittagong City Police's West Division Deputy Commissioner Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan said, "The young man named Yusuf Shanto was arrested yesterday as part of the ongoing nationwide Devil Hunt operation. At one stage of his interrogation, he said that he had a weapon. He said, "The criminal has no political affiliation. We will bring whoever commits the crime to justice. And a case will be registered against Yusuf under the relevant law in this regard and sent to court."
