Nawshad Ali, a member of Ward No. 4 of Ali Tek area of Narayanganj Sadar Police Station, said that during the previous Awami League government, they had no wrongdoings that made them close to the Osman family. They used to do various wrongdoings in the area where they had influence, including gifting a golden boat to former MP from Narayanganj 5 constituency Selim Osman and giving a car and cash to his nephew Ajmir Osman. They used to do various wrongdoings, including drug dealing, land grabbing, and forcibly cutting soil from other people's land and making bricks in their own brick kilns.
Naushad Ali, a son of a once very poor family, became the leader of the Jubo League during the previous Awami League government under the Osman family.
