Shahiduzzaman Shimul, Satkhira:
A neighboring grocery shopkeeper has been accused of secretly recording a woman's bath in Baichna village in Satkhira's Sadar district and threatening to harass her socially.
The victim, Ms. Mukta Khatun (28), has filed a written complaint with Satkhira Police Station in this incident.
It has been learned from the complaint that Md. Abu Raihan (28), son of Md. Abu Dawood, a grocery shop owner from Baichna village of Bhomra union in Sadar, is the father-in-law of Mukta Khatun. Md. Abu Raihan's grocery shop and godown are located next to his house.
From there, for a long time, he secretly recorded videos of Mukta Khatun and her two daughters, Nilufa Yasmin (25) and Mohsina Khatun (25), bathing.
The victims said that the accused used to make them lewd suggestions by threatening to release the video. They did not dare to tell anyone about the matter due to shame and fear of social prestige.
On Wednesday (February 26) at around 2:10 pm, Mukta Khatun saw the accused secretly recording a video again while taking a bath. When she screamed, her husband Alamgir Hossain ran to the accused's godown and recovered the mobile phone from him. About 20 secret videos of the three of them were found on the mobile phone.
Later, when the matter was reported to the local former chairman and dignitaries, the accused became even more angry and started intimidating the victims.
The complaint states that the accused is threatening to spread the videos on the internet to humiliate them socially.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkhira Police Station Shaminul Haque said, "In view of the complaint, the accused has been brought to the police station for questioning. Legal action will be taken after investigation."
