The Arman Guest House residential hotel adjacent to New Dhaka Road in Sirajganj Municipality was vandalized and set on fire by students of the District Anti-Discrimination Association for illegal prostitution. Sadar Police have arrested six people, including the hotel owner, who were involved in illegal prostitution.

The incident took place at around 2 pm on Saturday (February 22) at the Arman Guest House residential hotel on New Dhaka Road in Sirajganj Municipality. Sirajganj Sadar Police Station OC Investigation KM Masud Ran confirmed the information.
The arrested are: Md. Shahadat Hossain Sabuj (29), son of deceased Azar Sheikh of Sayadhangara Madhyapara village in Sadar upazila, Md. Shahin alias Shamim (35), son of Gazi Nazrul Islam of Char Haripur village, Md. Dulal Sheikh (33), daughter of deceased Zakir Ali of Shirail Colony village, Md. Shimla Khatun (25), daughter of deceased Alim Hossain of Fakirpara village, Rajshahi, Md. Shapla Khatun (34), daughter of deceased Alim Hossain of Dakshin Gotamari village, Lalmonirhat district, Md. Dulifa Begum Ankhi (29).
According to sources in Sirajganj Sadar Police Station, the coordinators of the District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement vandalized the hotel's furniture after the Arman Guest House residential hotel was hosting illegal prostitution for a long time. Later, they took out the hotel's bedding, mattresses, blankets, pillows, bed sheets, clothes, hotel banners and other items from the hotel and set them on fire in the street.
Sirajganj Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, Officer Md. Shariful Islam said, "On charges of illegal prostitution at the Arman Guest House residential hotel, the coordinators of the student movement against discrimination vandalized the hotel's furniture and set fire to the hotel's carpets, mattresses, sheets, pillows, and other items on the street. Upon receiving the news, the local people did not bring the fire under control before our fire brigade arrived."
