A young man named Md. Iqbal (40) has been allegedly hacked to death in the capital's Bibi Bagicha area of Jatrabari due to a previous enmity.
Details of the murder:
The attack took place around 11:30 pm on Tuesday (February 25). He was rescued in a seriously injured condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The deceased, Iqbal, was a driver by profession and his village was in Bauphal, Patuakhali.
Complaint of the deceased's wife:
Iqbal's wife Kulsoom said that her husband was standing in front of his house when some people, including Ujjal, a known terrorist in the area, attacked him. They chopped him up indiscriminately and left him on the ground before fleeing.
"I don't know who he had a dispute with. But Ujjal and his gang have been involved in various crimes in the area for a long time. We want justice," said Kulsoom.
Police investigation and position:
Jatrabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Talukder did not answer the phone regarding this matter. However, DMCH Hospital Police Camp In-charge Md. Faruk said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.

Criminal activities of Ujjal Chakra:
Local residents allege that Ujjal and his associates have long been involved in crimes such as extortion, drug dealing, and intimidation in the area. However, they repeatedly escape the law.
A local resident said, "Ujjal often intimidates people and demands money. I don't know what the dispute with Iqbal Bhai was about, but the culprits should be arrested quickly."
