Police have recovered the body of an unidentified elderly man (60) in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha.
The body was recovered from a paddy field in Bhekir Beel in Tiagacha Bhabanipur area of Bhatgram Union of the upazila around noon on Sunday (February 9).
Bhatgram Union Parishad Chairman Mahfuzar Rahman Mafu, quoting locals, said that a farmer from the area went to work on the land of that beel around 11 am today. At that time, he saw the body of an unknown person lying in the muddy water. Upon receiving the information, Sadullapur police recovered the body around noon.
Sadullapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taj Uddin Khandaker said, "A body of a man has been recovered from a paddy field in Bhekir Beel, Bhabanipur, Tiagacha, Bhatgram. His identity has not been found yet."
