A maid entered a house in the capital's Dhanmondi area, promising work, using a fake identity card, and sneaked into the house, taking sleeping pills with her food, gold ornaments and money from the cupboard, and fled. When she joined the work, the maid told the owner that her real name was Roksana.

Later, in the wake of the incident, when the plaintiff came to the police station and filed a case, Dhanmondi Model Police Station Case No. 19, Date-19/01/2025, Section-381 Penal Code was registered. Ramna Zone DC Masud Alam (BPM) confirmed the truth of the incident.
He said that as soon as the case was filed, the police worked on the incident. With the help of CCTV footage analysis around the scene and information and technology, the accused, allegedly named Roksana, was identified and the investigating officer of the case, SI Firoz Hossain and his accompanying officer force, conducted a raid in Dhaka and Gazipur metropolitan areas and arrested her.
After the arrest, more sensational information was revealed during interrogation that the national identity card made in the name of Roksana belonged to another person. She used to print it from a computer shop and keep a photocopy of it with herself. She used to give that identity card while working at different houses. During the investigation and interrogation, it was also revealed that her real name is Shefali. She takes work at people's houses on the pretext of her uncle's work, but she lives a luxurious life in Tongi. She has a millionaire cooperative society in Tongi called "Swapnavilas".
At the time of arrest, (1) Cash of Tk 3,43,000/- (2) Pearl necklace of 01 (one), (3) Total of 09 (nine) mobile phones (4) A vanity bag and anti-anxiety tablets kept in the bag were recovered from her. It is also known that Shefali has been stealing from houses in the elite areas of Dhaka city on the pretext of her uncle's work.
Legal action is underway against the arrested Shefali Begum.
